Today, November 9, 2022, my article called Photographing Butterflies Through Their Life Cycle, was published on Nature Photographers Network website. A few weeks ago, Nature Photographers Network reached out to me to see if I would be interested in writing an article for their website. It was an interesting timing of a thing as I was just about to start writing this article from my experience over the butterfly and monarch butterfly season as part of the Butterfly Oasis Habitat Project that I have been working on with my backyard butterfly garden.
Over this past summer and early fall I was able to take pictures as well as observe the whole life cycle of the Monarch butterfly from pictures of their little tiny eggs to caterpillars of different instars to chrysalises to changing of the chrysalises to eclosing from the chrysalis. Some of the pictures I captured of the life cycle are included in the article that was published on Nature Photographers Network.
This article discusses the life cycle of butterflies and of, especially, the Monarchs and delves into additional topics of conservation and technical tips on photographing butterflies in their natural settings in outdoor gardens. I hope you will check out my article and images on the Nature Photographers Network by clicking on the button below to read the article and to see my images of the Monarch life cycle.
Please let me know what you think of my article and my images of the monarch life cycle.
I hope my article and images will inspire you to help conserve and share knowledge on how to photograph these delicate fluttering creatures that provide a lot of benefits to our ecosystem. So, that we can bring awareness to others for the need to provide habitats for our butterflies to increase their population especially for the endangered Monarch butterfly.
Let’s preserve and conserve our natural world!!!
Thank you for reading my Field Notes Blog, and I hope you will share this post with others.
All the very best,
Lori
